I was told by a gunsmith that a person don't really need +P carry ammo. He said a standard pressure LSWC would be all you need in a confrontation at snubnose range. So now I carry 4 125gr Nyclads(standard pressure), and 1 135+P GDHP. But as it has been stated many times before, practice, practice, and more practice. A snubby is great carry piece as long as you can use it efficiantly. I lucked out on the Nyclads,it was the last box the shop had.

Hornady markets different bullets for different tasks. Soft bodied targets (ccw targets) are better served with "Critical Defense" rounds. Targets that need to be served through more aggressive intermediate barriers are better worked by "Critical Duty" rounds. The Golden Saber rounds are no different. If you CC and most likely won't need to penetrate aggressive barriers, then Golden Saber rounds do offer quite an adequate nasty "buckshotish" effect without the fear of undue overpenetration. The 10mm is sexy! and hot. Golden Saber rounds demenish some of the liability in shooting the people behind your bad guy while dropping his butt. Not advised for anything four legged!

Some excellent advice & commentary for the "doomsday preppers" out there. While I believe in preparing for the worst, a zombie invasion is not particularly likely. Short to medium term disruptions in society are most likely. And, besides, few loners will prevail. One needs friends & allies.

Very helpful and infinitely better than the cryptic "instructions" which accompanied some aftermarket parts. Thanks much!

The only suggestion I would make is to use a shortened "slave" pin to hold the trigger/sear assembly together while inserting it into the housing. Insertion of the actual pin gradually displaces the slave pin & keeps everything together, since it is VERY easy for the assembly to fall apart during installation.

Cynthia, Ive had cases rupture(crack open ) from S&B, Winchester, and Remington. Its not an un-common problem. Like the Admin. said, its probably due to a bad heat- treating process. I personally like cheap(in price) ammo to practice with. I carry 135 gr +P Gold Dots in my snubbie for serious use. Never had a ruptured case with them; but I don't shoot a lot of +P's when I'm at the range. Too much of a good thing hurts after a while. If you are set on not using S&B anymore, try American Eagle. They are sort of cheap 130 gr fmj's for practice. Happy Shooting

I also need a battery holder, and I'm in the need of the same info.

Reply from Admin; I wish I had info for you guys. I can't even find a company website on Google. Maybe Techlite falls under the umbrella of some larger firm.

Hornady makes two 7.62x39 loads both are .311 diameter poly tip rounds. One is called Zombie Max, thee other is Steel Match, both are steel case. PS steel case is perfectly fine in any modern rifle, brinale tests show steel case ammo both Russian and US made are extreemly soft steel, and brass cases are only a few Brinel points lower than the steel cases. Cheers.
